Why I hate going to the movies – Part 1

I checked out Enter the Void (review to follow) last night at the lovely Vancity Theatre. I quite enjoy going to the theatre and seeing a film, especially something like that, on the big screen. But for whatever reason I always seem to be in too close proximity to someone who does something to offend me. Maybe I’m just a little sensitive when it comes to theatre going but to me there is a certain decorum or etiquette that one should display when in a public forum. One of my personal pet peeves is the eating of food at the movies. Ya, I know some people must have their popcorn and what not. That’s fine as long as you eat it before the film starts or even a bit of a ways into the show. But really dude, do you have to pick one piece of fucking popcorn out at a time throughout the entire 2 and 3/4 hour film? And then start crunching on the fucking kernels? You are not at home, there are people all around you, have a little respect, jackass. And don’t even get me started on the stupid candies with their insanely loud crinkly bags!
